The main tool introduced in the Interactive Guide is the 8-element Beryllium Worker Protection Model (WPM) that describes beryllium health and safety practices in a format that is easy-to-understand and navigate. The purpose of the WPM is to prevent chronic beryllium disease. Applying the WPM can be as simple as requiring those types of controls typically found in most industrial operations to requiring significant additional controls and full consideration of all elements of this model.
